The mission of the PCS library is to implement, enrich and support the educational program of the school. In fulfilling the mission of the library the goal is to train students to become effective users of ideas and information and to foster in them a lifelong love of learning.
The school library media center exists to supplement and complement the educational program, curriculum, and learning objectives of PCS, as well as to provide for the informational and recreational needs of the students, faculty and staff.
The library media center also strives to provide a wide range of materials on all difficulty levels and in different formats; and to provide an atmosphere conducive to inquiry and learning and to promote literacy skills.
The librarian and volunteers at Presbyterian Christian School library work together to fulfill the school’s Mission Statement. “The mission of PCS is to provide a comprehensive college preparatory education distinguished by a biblical worldview to equip students with the moral integrity, intellectual capacity and social conscience to impact the world for Christ.” The staff and volunteers are always willing and able to work to create a caring and nurturing environment and very successful outcomes for the students.
Library hours are 7:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Students are encouraged to use the library before and after school. There are 18 student computers available for their use. Students are encouraged to read not only required material but to avail themselves of other works in the collection to help them develop a love of reading for personal enjoyment.
